Třinecké železárny has acquired its own secondary school

From 1 September, Třinecké železárny is opening its own secondary school, where the students will be prepared to work not only directly for the steel company, but also for its subsidiaries. For Třinecké železárny, this is a major step in education and a response to the supposed lack of technically skilled employees in the industry. The private educational institution is based on the existing secondary school in Třinec having been taken over from the Region of Moravia-Silesia.

"The education and training at the school is not preparing young people for blue-collar jobs, but also prepare appropriate full secondary vocational training to perform highly qualified blue-collars as well as white-collars and preparation for study at universities. The biggest motivation for parents and pupils in choosing the future profession will certainly be the security of quality teaching at school paroviding the guarantee of employment prospects for Trinecke group," says Boguslaw Heczko, the HR Director.

In the school year 2009/2010, a total of 725 students will study at the school including 238 freshmen. Třinecké železárny will provide them a good environment not only for study – contribution to teaching aids, but also sports and social activities, in-house practice within the Group and steady job after the graduation. "The whole group will find the graduates of relevant technical skills as well as the other ones. The need of about 200 graduates a year corresponds to a natural generational replacement," said Heczko adding that approximately 400 employees will retire from the Group in the next three years. Within the further period the average of 200 employees a year will retire.

In 2002, the Třinecké železárny established comprehensive "Program of cooperation with schools of all levels", within which the company strives for and active approach to the education of future employees. "Today, thanks to this project, about 100 to 130 graduates of high schools and universities are prepared to work here, while our company contributes indispensable funds," says Boguslaw Heczko.
